About the Competition

Two weeks. One challenge.
Unlimited impact.

Coding for Good is CodeEarly Club's biggest competition of the year — timed to celebrate Nigerian Children's Day on May 27. We believe the next generation of problem-solvers is already here, and this competition is their launchpad.

Every registered participant gets access to a free 2 week AI app-building course — no prior experience needed. At the end, each child submits a project that uses technology to address a real challenge in their school, home, or community.

The best projects win prizes, recognition, and a spot in the CodeEarly Hall of Fame. Every participant walks away with a certificate and skills they'll carry for life.

🤖 This year's theme: AI for Good

Participants will use AI tools and concepts to build apps that solve real problems — from education to health to the environment. No experience needed. We teach everything in the 2 week programme.

What kind of projects can kids build?
🏫
Education
An app that helps kids in your school learn a subject more easily. Quiz tools, flashcard generators, study helpers.
🌿
Environment
Track waste, identify plants, remind communities to recycle. Use AI to solve environmental problems around you.
🏥
Health & Wellbeing
A health tracker, medication reminder, or mental health support tool for families in your community.
🤝
Community
Connect neighbours, help local businesses, support the elderly, or solve any problem you see around you.

FAQ

Questions about the competition.

A laptop or desktop is recommended for the best experience. A tablet with a keyboard can also work. All course content runs in the browser — no software installation needed.
Absolutely. The 2 week course is designed to teach everything from scratch. Complete beginners are not just welcome — they're encouraged. The judging criteria rewards creativity and effort, not just technical complexity.
We recommend 1–2 hours per day over the 2 week course. Content is self paced so children can work around school schedules, with live weekend sessions for those who want extra support.
Individual entries only for this competition. However, schools and organisations interested in group participation should contact us at info@codeearly.com — we may be able to arrange a group experience.
The course teaches children how to use AI tools — like ChatGPT, Claude, image generators, and simple AI APIs — to build their projects. You don't need to build AI from scratch. You learn to use AI as a tool, just like professionals do.
Winners will be announced live during the virtual showcase on May 27, 2026 — Nigerian Children's Day. All registered participants will receive an invitation link to the event.
